MatPay Terms of Service

1. The service
MatPay ("MatPay," "we") provides software that lets Clubs publish programs and collect registration payments online. MatPay is a software platform, not a bank, money transmitter, or payment processor. Payments are processed by Stripe; each Club is the merchant of record for its own transactions.
2. Accounts
You must be 18 or older to create an account and must provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials confidential. Club accounts are responsible for the accuracy of their program listings and prices.
3. Fees
Clubs pay no monthly, annual, or setup fee. A MatPay service fee (currently 1.9%) is added to each transaction and paid by the purchaser at checkout. Clubs pay Stripe's standard card-processing fees on each transaction, deducted by Stripe. The MatPay service fee is non-refundable, including when a Club issues a refund, except where the refund results from MatPay's own error.
4. Payments and refunds
Funds flow directly to the Club's Stripe account. Refunds are issued at the Club's discretion and under the Club's own policy — MatPay does not control and is not responsible for any Club's refund decisions. Refund requests should be directed to the Club. Chargebacks and disputes are handled through Stripe and are the responsibility of the Club as merchant of record.
5. Club responsibilities
Clubs are solely responsible for the programs they offer, their pricing, their refund and cancellation policies, the conduct of their activities, and compliance with laws applicable to their operations (including youth-sports and child-protection requirements).
6. Acceptable use
You may not use MatPay for unlawful purposes, to misrepresent programs or fees, to attempt unauthorized access to other accounts or Clubs' data, or to interfere with the operation of the service.
7. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. MatPay is not a party to the relationship between a Club and an athlete or purchaser and makes no warranties regarding any Club's programs.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MatPay's total liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the MatPay service fees we received from the transaction(s) giving rise to the claim in the twelve months preceding it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for the platform, Clubs, or purchasers.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes is the state or federal courts located in Maryland.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date.
